Terms of Service

1. Who we are and this agreement

letterscove is operated by a company organized under the laws of Brazil ("letterscove", "we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and us. You accept them when you tick the box at checkout and when you use the service. The version you accepted, and when, is recorded with your account. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, and able to enter into a contract. The service is for personal use by the account holder; it may not be resold.

2. The service

letterscove gives you one or more email addresses at @letterscove.com and a browser inbox where messages sent to them arrive. The service only receives email: it can't send or reply.

Some websites and services refuse less-known email domains, filter them, or change their rules. We don't control them and don't promise that any particular site will accept your address or deliver to it. Don't use letterscove for banking, government, or other accounts you can't afford to lose access to.

We may improve, change or remove features. If we remove something central to your plan, we'll tell you in advance and you may cancel.

3. Your account

4. Plans, billing and automatic renewal

5. Price changes

We may change prices. For an active subscription, a new price applies only from your next renewal after we've emailed you at least 30 days in advance. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before that renewal.

6. Upgrades and downgrades

You can change plan or billing period from your account. When the change costs more, you're charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current period right away. When it costs less, the prorated difference becomes a credit on your account that pays for future charges; it isn't paid out in money. Lowering your limits may require you to remove addresses or messages first.

7. Failed payments

If a renewal can't be charged, we and Stripe will try again over the following days, and we may email you to update your card. Your inbox keeps working during that time. If payment still fails, the subscription ends, as described in section 13. Amounts that were due remain owed.

8. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from Account → Subscription, without contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals; your inbox stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again. Not using the inbox or deleting messages doesn't cancel the subscription: only cancelling does.

9. Refunds

Your inbox and address are delivered immediately after payment, and you ask us to start the service right away when you subscribe. For that reason, payments are non-refundable, including for partial periods, unused time, unused addresses or storage, renewals you didn't cancel in time, and accounts suspended or closed for breaking these Terms, except where the law gives you a right to a refund:

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected] from your personal email, within the deadline, with your @letterscove.com address. Refunds go back to the original payment method, and the subscription ends when the refund is made. If we were charged in error (for example, a double charge), we'll refund the extra amount. Any other refund or credit is at our sole discretion and doesn't create an obligation to repeat it.

10. Billing questions and card disputes

If you don't recognize a charge or think it's wrong, contact us first at [email protected]. We answer within 3 business days, and most billing questions are solved by email faster than through a bank. Charges appear on statements under our name or letterscove.

Opening a chargeback or payment dispute for a charge you authorized under these Terms, including a renewal you didn't cancel in time, is a breach of these Terms. When a dispute is opened, we may suspend the account until it's resolved, and we'll respond to it. To do so, we share with Stripe and the card networks the records needed to show the charge was authorized and the service delivered: your acceptance of these Terms (version, date, IP address and browser), account and billing details, access records (dates, IP addresses, browsers), and how many messages your inbox received and when. We never share the content of your messages.

If a dispute is decided against a charge that was valid, we may close the account. Its addresses are then retired and can't be returned to you or anyone else, and the amount remains owed. Disputes opened by mistake can be withdrawn by contacting your bank.

11. Acceptable use

You may not use letterscove, or let others use it, to:

We may investigate suspected violations, refuse messages, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, without refund. We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

12. Limits and how mail is handled

13. When a subscription or account ends

When a subscription ends (because you cancelled, a payment failed or the account was closed), or a lifetime account is closed, new mail to your addresses is refused. Saved messages stay available for 30 days and are then permanently deleted, along with the account. Addresses from ended accounts are retired: they're never given to anyone else, so no one can receive mail meant for you.

We may suspend or close an account, without refund, if you break these Terms, if a payment is disputed as described in section 10, if required by law, or to protect the service or other people. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first.

14. Signing in to other sites with letterscove

Some websites let you sign in with your letterscove account. You choose whether to connect each one, and you can disconnect any of them in your account. A connected site receives only what the consent screen shows (your address, and for some sites whether your plan is active). Those sites are run by other companies under their own terms and policies, which we don't control.

15. Our service and your content

The letterscove service, brand, software and design belong to us. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service under these Terms. The messages you receive belong to you or their senders; we only process them to provide the service, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

16. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, that any message will be delivered, or that third-party sites will accept your address.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows: we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data or messages, or damages caused by third-party sites or services; and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including the Código de Defesa do Consumidor where it applies.

18. Your responsibility

If your use of the service in breach of these Terms or of the law causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from it, to the extent the law allows.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll email you or show a notice at least 15 days before they take effect; price changes follow section 5. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new Terms. If you don't, cancel before then.

20. Resolving disagreements, governing law and venue

If you have a complaint, write to [email protected] first. We'll try in good faith to solve it with you within 30 days before either of us goes to court or to a consumer authority.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Disputes will be decided by the courts of the district where our company has its registered office, unless the law where you live, such as the Código de Defesa do Consumidor, gives you the right to bring the case in the courts of your own domicile.

21. General

These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a part is found invalid, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a right now doesn't mean we give it up. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the service, and you'll be told. Notices to you are sent to your personal email or shown in your account.
